Prostaglandin intermediate, is a building block for the preparation of an analog of PGF2 [alpha], a potent and selective anti-glaucoma drug.

 As prostaglandins can cause strong contraction of the uterus, it is applied to full-term pregnancy induced abortion, abortion and contraception, 

and achieved some results. Prostaglandin treatment of asthma, gastrointestinal ulcer disease, shock, hypertension and cardiovascular 

disease may have a certain effect, which aroused people's attention.

 The main physiological function of PG PGE2 can induce inflammation, promote local vasodilatation, increased capillary permeability, 

causing red, swollen, pain, fever and other symptoms. PGE2, PGA2 make arterial smooth muscle relaxation, lower blood pressure. 

PGE2 and PGI2 inhibit gastric acid secretion, promote gastrointestinal smooth muscle motility. Follicles produce PGE2 and PGF2α 

play an important role in ovulation. PGF2α can ovarian smooth muscle contraction, causing ovulation. Uterine release of PGF2α luteal lysis. 

PGF2α released from the endometrium during childbirth can cause contractions of the uterus to be strengthened and promote childbirth.
